Once a year the kidney walk does a walk at the Philadelphia Zoo. I try and do the walk for my friend Joe, who had a failing kidney and was on dialysis 3x a week. Joe recently, this year about 6 months ago, got a kidney transplant. We were all so happy for him and that made this year's kidney walk so much more special. It felt great to be out there supporting a good cause. Joe actually just got accepted as a 2012 transplant olympics contestant, he was so excited!

Omg that's so wonderful that he was able to get a transplant!! My step mom got a lung transplant 9 years ago this thanksgiving and our family has been doing the transplant walk that starts at the art museum in philly for years. She went to the transplant Olympics a few years ago and had a great time, I bet Joe will too!!
